I enjoy maintain relationships with local business owners, and have created a partnership where I am their go-to designer. Sometimes the projects, are small, and sometimes larger. I enjoy making a difference in my community, and helping small businesses wherever I can.

Small Business Launch

When a person chooses to take the leap to go “go out on their own”, lots of times, their logo, business card, advertising, social media and website are the furthest thing from their mind - I understand! I also know that all of these pieces will help them get that next client.

Working with small businesses on short & long-term marketing goals, allows me to help them grow their client base, so they can worry about the actual project at hand.

Independent Contractor

I have supported large businesses as an extension of their staff, and perform seamlessly with their marketing teams. My experience as an in-house designer, allows me to tap back into this skill-set and help solve the design challenges that larger companies face.

There is no “I” in Team

With over 15 years as a Graphic Designer, 10 years of that as an in-house designer, working on a team, and receiving feedback is part of the design process that I enjoy. Collaboration is just as important as being able to work independently.

Teaching

My “on-the-ground-floor” design skills led me to my love of teaching graphic design, based off of my experiences. Helping the next generation of designers learn the most basic skills and how to be forward thinkers, has taught me to appreciate what design can do.

Graphic Designs have the power to translate ideas, and change opinions. Teaching strengthened my presentation skills and gave me a new appreciation for presenting designs, whether it be to a client or a colleague.

I am more than comfortable working in the Adobe Creative Suite (mainly Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign). While I was teaching, I wrote course materials for each of these programs, demonstrating my knowledge and creating practical applications for my students.
